The Ostermayer Jagd weapon bluing is ideal for repairing damaged bluing on weapons or for bluing entire weapon parts. Of course, other irons and steels can also be blued up to a chrome content of about 3%. The result is a deep black gloss.
Application:
For best results, the parts should be well prepared. When repairing damaged blueing, we recommend degreasing the parts with Ostermayer Jagd weapon degreaser, then the part should be dust-free and degreased with the Ostermayer-Jagd polishing cloth. Then the weapon bluing can be applied with the help of the brush pen. After about 2-8 minutes the area will be burnished. If necessary, rinse the area with water and burnish again until the desired blackening is achieved. Then fix the blueing with Ostermayer Jagd blueing fixer and protect against corrosion - done. For more shine, polish with the Ostermayer Jagd polishing cloth.
When blueing entire weapon parts or rusty weapons, we recommend placing the weapon parts in the Ostermayer Jagd Rust Remover beforehand in order to derust them and remove any blueing residue. Then the parts should be polished with steel wool if possible and rinsed with water to achieve a result that is as even as possible, then burnish as described above.
